Things that I know, from experience, performers deal with:
A lack of energy to keep them going during their day job AND at rehearsals
Feeling like you're never quite cast RIGHT (and not knowing what to do about it!)
A false belief that you MUST be in a show at all times to call yourself a performer
A misguided belief that if you slow down, all your momentum will stop and everyone will forget about you
Excess weight
Crappy sleep
Subsisting on coffee and junk food because you're running from one thing to the next all the time
Not wanting to do certain things because they don't FEEL comfortable in their bodies (avoiding those new headshots just because you'll lose 5 pounds one day DOES NOT HELP YOU!)
And LOTS of other things...
Not only do these things take the FUN out of our jobs, but we just CAN'T be as good at them. AND we tend to leave a BUNCH of other life things in our wake and ignored (Oops, forgot to pay that bill! Yikes, when did those stairs become so tiring!)
So if any of the above list sounds like you... know that it DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THAT WAY!
